The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA endorses Bill Hill

Largest union representing flight attendants backs Hill for Congress

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – June 23, 2026

The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA-CWA), representing more than 55,000 flight attendants across the country, has endorsed Bill Hill for Alaska’s seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The endorsement reflects Hill’s strong support for organized labor, workers’ rights, and the aviation workers who help keep Alaska’s communities connected every day.

“Growing up in Bush Alaska, I know firsthand how important air travel is in Alaska,” said Bill Hill. “For many communities, including the one where I was raised, planes aren’t a convenience, they’re a necessity. The flight attendants and aviation workers who keep our transportation system running deserve leaders who will stand up for them, protect their right to organize, and make sure they have safe workplaces and fair contracts.”

A lifelong commercial fisherman, 25-year educator, and former construction worker, Hill has made support for working people a central focus of his campaign. He has pledged to support the PRO Act, strengthen collective bargaining rights, protect retirement security, and strengthen workplace protections for workers across Alaska and the nation.

“Bill Hill understands the challenges facing working families because he’s lived them,” said Sara Nelson, President of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA. “Alaska is home for a lot of AFA members. Having representation from someone who not only respects the extraordinary lands, but has also struggled to make a life there and contribute to the community is something our members know well and value highly. Bill has consistently demonstrated his commitment to workers’ rights, safe working conditions, and ensuring that working people have a voice in Washington. We are proud to endorse Bill Hill for Congress.”

“I’m honored to have the support of AFA-CWA,” Hill said. “Flight attendants are on the front lines of keeping passengers safe and keeping communities connected. I’ll work every day in Congress to make sure workers have a seat at the table and that the people who keep Alaska moving are treated with the respect they deserve.”
