Lifelong commercial fisherman Bill Hill hauls in over $200,000 on Day 1 of campaign for Congress

Bill doubled the Day 1 raise of any current challenger to incumbent Nick Begich

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – January 22, 2026

Today, Bill Hill’s campaign for Congress announced a Day 1 raise of over $200,000.

The total is double the first-day raise of any other candidate running against Nick Begich
in 2026. It’s also the highest ever Day 1 raise for a non-incumbent running for Alaska’s US
House seat.

“With so many of us feeling the crunch these days, I’m blown away by the number of
people who have chipped in,” said Bill. “I can promise Alaskans this – no one will work
harder to win this seat, and no one will work harder to represent you in Congress.”

Bill, a lifelong fisherman, longtime educator, and Independent from rural Alaska, launched
his campaign for Alaska’s congressional seat on Wednesday.

“This number shows that Alaskans want a representative in Congress who gets what life is
like in Alaska and who will work for us, instead of cozying up to billionaires and special
interests,” said Campaign Manager Kevin Groh. “Our team is ready to turn this strong early
support into the momentum to win.”
