Update: April 8, 2026

Alaskan leaders and pundits need to see announcements that indicate:

  • There is a coalition ready to put serious resources behind the effort to elect Bill to Congress.
  • Bill Hill is the most viable candidate to beat Nick Begich in November, as demonstrated by polling that tests Bill head to head vs. Begich.

National race raters, journalists, endorsers, and funders need to be shown that:

  • Independent candidates have a track record of success in Alaska.
  • Bill’s background as an Alaska Native leader, commercial fisherman, longtime educator, and construction worker make him uniquely suited to bring together the coalition that can win in Alaska, and a uniquely strong contrast against Nick Begich.
  • Bill is running the most viable campaign to beat Nick Begich.
    • Endorsements: Bill is the only labor-endorsed candidate, with sole endorsements from the National Education Association, Alaska Professional Fire Fighters Association, and Pacific Northwest Iron Workers.
    • Fundraising: Bill is leading on fundraising among challengers to Nick Begich. He raised over $780,000 in the first quarter and has by far the highest raise of anyone running against Nick Begich.
