Bill is the only candidate in a statistical tie with Nick Begich; other candidates trail in independent polling

A new poll from national polling group Tavern Research shows Bill Hill is the candidate best positioned to beat Nick Begich in November. The poll, released May 29, shows Hill and Begich in a statistical tie within the margin of error. Other candidates for Congress trail Begich in the poll, outside of the margin of error.

The poll highlights what previous polls have shown: That Bill is the candidate for Congress who performs best against Begich. The difference comes down to undecided voters, in particular independents, who break for Bill when he is on the ballot.
The poll was conducted between May 18-27, and surveyed 452 likely 2026 voters in Alaska.
