Bill Hill is the only US House candidate with organized labor support
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – June 17, 2026
The Alaska AFL-CIO, the state’s largest labor organization, has endorsed Bill Hill for Congress. The AK AFL-CIO represents over 50,000 union members belonging to over 50 affiliated unions statewide.
The endorsement reflects Hill’s longstanding commitment to protecting workers’ rights and ensuring that the hardworking people of Alaska have a strong voice in Washington, D.C.
“Working people built Alaska, and unions built the middle class. I will be a champion for organized labor and working Alaskans and fight to make sure their voices are heard in Congress.” said Bill Hill. “I am truly honored to earn the endorsement of the Alaska AFL-CIO.”
Hill has pledged to support legislation that strengthens workers’ ability to organize, protects retirement security, invests in infrastructure and workforce development, and expands economic opportunities across Alaska.
“For far too long, Alaska’s working families have taken a back seat to corporate interests, with members of Congress voting for tax breaks for the billionaire class rather than passing common-sense legislation that uplifts the lives of people who work to support their families. For us, the choice is clear: Bill Hill will fight day in and day out to put the lives of workers first and will address kitchen table issues like health care, affordability, and child care. We will work every day between now and November to elect Bill to the US House,” said Joelle Hall, AK AFL-CIO President.
The Alaska AFL-CIO joins a growing coalition of labor organizations, elected officials, community leaders, and Alaskans from across the state who have endorsed Hill’s campaign. Hill is the only candidate with endorsements from Alaska-based organizations.
Bill Hill is an independent candidate for Alaska’s sole seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. A lifelong commercial fisherman and 25-year educator, Bill understands the value of hard work. His campaign is focused on strengthening Alaska’s economy, fighting corruption, lowering costs for families, and ensuring all Alaskans have a voice in Washington.
