APEA/AFT represents thousands of Alaska public employees
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – June 22, 2026
The Alaska Public Employees Association/AFT (APEA/AFT) has endorsed Bill Hill for Congress, joining a growing coalition of organized labor organizations supporting the campaign, including the Alaska AFL-CIO.
APEA/AFT represents thousands of public employees across Alaska, including K-12 teachers, school paraprofessionals and support staff, university faculty, state workers, municipal employees, and other public servants who provide essential services in communities throughout the state.
Hill, a lifelong commercial fisherman and 25-year educator, said he is honored to receive the endorsement.
“Public employees keep Alaska running every day,” Hill said. “From educators to state employees, these workers provide critical services that Alaskans rely on. I’m proud to have the support of APEA/AFT, and I will fight in Congress to protect the rights of public employees to organize, strengthen collective bargaining, defend retirement security, and ensure public services remain strong for future generations.”
The endorsement follows the recent support of the Alaska AFL-CIO and reflects strong backing from Alaska workers for Hill’s campaign focused on lowering costs, protecting public services, fighting corruption in Washington, and ensuring Alaska has an independent voice in Congress.
Hill is running as a nonpartisan candidate for Alaska’s lone seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
